Maparaju is a minor glaciated peak in Quebreda Cayesh. The relatively easy route up the southwest slopes is good for acclimatizing before attempting higher peaks, although the route proved more challenging this season due to glacial retreat. What Maparaju lacks in beauty it makes up for with spectacular views of its neighbors, including Cayesh's tall spire and San Juan's voluminous icefalls and seracs.
